What do I need to rent a motorcycle or scooter in Morocco?

To rent a motorcycle or scooter with Waves & Wheels, you need: you must be at least 18 years old, a valid passport or a Moroccan ID. No license is required for scooters under 50cc. You need a valid driving license recognized in Morocco for scooters over 50cc. No documents = no rental vehicles. Even the bike agrees.

How old do I need to be to rent a scooter or motorcycle?

The minimum age is 18 years old. This rule exists to protect: you, the bike, and occasionally, nearby palm trees.

Is insurance included with the rental?

Accepted Answer

Yes — mandatory third-party liability insurance, as required by Moroccan law, is included only if explicitly stated in your rental agreement. Please note carefully: damage to the rented vehicle is not covered, theft or total loss of the vehicle is not covered, personal injuries, medical expenses, and personal belongings are not covered. Insurance is void in cases of: reckless or negligent riding, alcohol or drug use, off-road or prohibited riding, traffic violations, unauthorized riders. This is legal insurance, not a superhero cape.

Do you provide helmets?

Yes. Helmets are included and mandatory for all riders and passengers. Looking cool is optional. Protecting your brain is not.

Can I ride with a passenger?

Accepted Answer

Yes, only if: the vehicle is designed for two people, and the passenger wears a helmet at all times. Safety first. Selfies come later.

Can someone else ride the bike if I rent it?

Accepted Answer

No. Only the person who signed the rental agreement is authorized to operate the vehicle. Friends, cousins, hostel buddies, and "just for one minute" scenarios are not allowed — and will void insurance coverage.

Is prior riding experience required?

Yes. You must already know how to ride. We rent motorcycles. We don't teach physics in live traffic.

What happens if I damage the bike?

Accepted Answer

If damage occurs: you must inform Waves & Wheels immediately. Repair costs, towing, administrative fees, and loss of rental income may be charged. Charges may be deducted from your security deposit. You are responsible for all damage not covered by insurance. Bikes recover. Wallets sometimes need a little more time.

What happens if the motorcycle or scooter is stolen?

In the event of theft: you must contact Waves & Wheels immediately. A police report is required. You may be responsible for the market value of the vehicle at the time of loss, based on professional valuation or depreciation, if not covered by insurance. We love adventures. Losing bikes is not one of them.

What is your fuel policy?

Accepted Answer

The vehicle is provided with a certain fuel level and must be returned with the same level. If not: missing fuel is charged at market price, a service fee applies. Fair is fair — even for fuel.

What happens if I return the bike late?

Accepted Answer

Late returns may result in additional charges, calculated hourly or daily, according to the agreed price list. Sunsets are beautiful. Deadlines still exist.

Do you offer delivery and pickup?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Delivery and pickup may be available in: Tamraght, Taghazout, Agadir, Imi Ouaddar, and nearby areas. Additional fees may apply. Just ask us when booking.

Can I cancel my reservation?

Accepted Answer

Cancellation conditions are as follows: free cancellation may be available if made more than 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged up to 100% of the rental amount. Weather conditions are not grounds for refunds. Rain happens. Rules still apply.

Who is responsible for traffic fines and violations?

Accepted Answer

You are. All traffic violations, parking tickets, and fines incurred during the rental period are 100% the Renter's responsibility. The police have excellent memories — and paperwork.
